FATE ACTIVITIES

There are a number of opportunities through which you or your organisation can partner with FATE Foundation and provide needed support (both in cash and kind) to see our goal achieved. Listed below are some of these opportunities;

1) Adopt an Entrepreneur
The objective of this programme is to equip aspiring entrepreneurs with the skills, tools, networks and financing that they require to establish successful businesses. This programme primarily targets individuals who are between 22 and 40 years, have obtained at least their first university degrees and have a high likelihood of business success as demonstrated by their track records.  Participants in the programme are expected to prepare a marketable business plan before graduation. It costs FATE Foundation N133, 000 to train one aspiring entrepreneur per year

2) Business Workshops
FATE Foundation has instituted a series of seminars and workshops for each year that cover a wide range of topics. The Foundation holds two workshops monthly. The purpose of these sessions is to expose aspiring entrepreneurs to business leaders who have expertise in specific functional and industry areas. It costs the foundation N129, 000 to hold a workshop.

3) FATE Newsletter
As part of the Foundation’s commitments to its stakeholders and to ensure transparency in all its activities, it publishes two news letters annually. The purpose of the publication is two fold. Firstly, it serves as an information resource about FATE activities in the reporting period to all its stakeholders, secondly, as a fundraising tool. As part of the recently developed document on the Donor’s Bill of Rights, each donor by right must be given a periodic report on the specific project that is being funded and the overall performance of the Foundation in each financial year. Each publication highlights the donor’s contribution. It costs the foundation N450, 000 to print 1,500 newsletters per edition.

4) FATE Endowment Fund
Since inception, FATE has been committed to becoming a self-sustaining and self-reliant organization. Consequently, the Foundation has set-aside a pool of funds in an endowment. These funds are invested in the capital and money markets, both locally and off-shore. During its first five years of operations, FATE has invested N103 Million Naira in its endowment fund. In the next five years the foundation intends to grow the endowment fund to N500 Million Naira, so that with a minimum return of 15% on our investment, we are able to fund 80% of our operations, whilst internally generated funds is expected to fund the remaining 20%.

5) Annual Business Plan Competition Prize
During the course of the AEP classes a class business plan competition is held. Winners from each class advance to the final stage where external judges evaluate the finalist. The 1ST prize is N1, 000,000, 2nd prize N500, 000 and the 3rd prize N250, 000.

6) Capital Equipment
In order to serve more effectively, FATE requires capital equipment such as computers, printers, projectors as well as other training furniture and equipment. In addition, since inception the Foundation has been using two second hand cars to its work. However the cost of maintenance and repairs are no longer making business sense. The foundation requests the donation of a car to facilitate the transportation of its staff.

FATE Volunteers
FATE Foundation is constantly in need of enthusiastic volunteers who can assist with training and equipping aspiring entrepreneurs. There is a unique opportunity for your employee’s to donate their time to the Foundation through facilitating, mentoring and consultancy.

Thank you for partnering with FATE to ensure that at least one world-class entrepreneur is produced per household
