BUSINESS AND ALUMNI SERVICES & SUPPORT UNIT

The Business Support and Alumni Unit was established in March 2001. Graduates of FATE programmes are offered a variety of after-graduation services coordinated by the Unit for a period of 24 months. The objectives of these services are to promote advanced training, support business growth formation and growth, business success and foster camaraderie among FATE alumni. This is achieved through a close monitoring and feedback system, and peer networking events that ensure their businesses progress. 

Unit Activities

Business Development Service: A monthly seminar for FATE Alumni operating in the same industry to meet, discuss and get expert advice from consultants and business leaders in the industry.

Consulting Clinic: The Consultancy Clinic aims at working with FATE Alumni by offering specialist advice to alumni undergoing peculiar challenges in their businesses.  Through an interactive one on one discussion, the clinic engages alumni members in order to empower them to create necessary solutions to overcome challenges and better position their businesses to grow.

Entrepreneurial visits: As part of the Unit’s close monitoring process, periodic visits are paid to alumni’s businesses to guide growth formation and growth by offering business advisory in areas of need.  This service runs throughout the year.

Business Plan Competition: FATE organizes a business plan competition annually aimed at identifying, nurturing and showcasing entrepreneurial talent. The competition also challenges aspiring business owners to take their ideas from concept to market, and creates opportunities to market their products and services before business leaders and prospective investors.

Alumni General Assembly: This is an annual gathering of alumni members. The aim of the event is to tackle critical issues concerning business; acquire knowledge, and provide a chance to network with business leaders and potential investors.
