FATE Foundation Annual Press Workshop

FATE Foundation held its Annual Press Workshop series “Report Your Way to Wealth” on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at

FATE Foundation’s office, 1st Floor, Water House, Lagos State Water Corporation Building, Ijora Causeway, Ijora, Lagos.

 

Speakers at the workshop were: Mr. Bayo Oyewole, Chief Operating Officer, Timbuktu Media Company

(publisher of 234NEXT Newspaper) and Dr. Reuben Abati, Chairman of the Board, Guardian Newspaper.

Both speakers spoke on “Digital Media: Adding Innovation to Reporting and Monetizing your Content” and

“The Media as a Tool to Drive Social Change and Create Influence” respectively.  

 

The workshop is a FATE Foundation initiative to equip the press community with up to date media training,

to enable them advance in their careers entrepreneurially, or professionally.

FATE Foundation and British American Tobacco Nigeria Empowerment Training

FATE Foundation partners British American Tobacco Nigeria (BATN) to empower Nigerian students. The partnership, which was sponsored by BATN, was aimed at exposing Nigerian students to the vast opportunities available in the agricultural sector. FATE Foundation also provided the participants with basic skills of starting and building a successful business.
The workshop was held at Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State.

 

FATE Foundation Strengthened the Nigerian Economy  
FATE Foundation further strengthened the Nigerian economy as it formally graduated over 265 freshly empowered entrepreneurs at its 8th Annual Celebration and Entrepreneurial Awards on December 4th, 2008, 228 persons out of the total 265 FATE-trained entrepreneurs have undergone the Aspiring Entrepreneur Programme of the Foundation, during which they received world-class and hands-on entrepreneurial training through formal classes, one-on-one mentoring and networking opportunities. The budding entrepreneurs who have business interest in diverse industry sectors each produced a mandatory marketable business plan to give their businesses the much needed focus and direction. While 37 entrepreneurs graduated from the Emerging Entrepreneurs Programme, this category of entrepreneurs are trained towards redirecting their businesses into creating better operation systems and business expansion.

FATE Foundation Concludes 2008 Annual Celebration and Award Ceremony  

Mr. Godwin Ehigiamusoe, Executive Director of Lift Above Poverty Organization (LAPO) emerged as the 2008 FATE Model Entrepreneur at the recently concluded FATE Annual Celebrations and Entrepreneurial Awards while Mrs. Yinka Osobu, MD/CEO of CMC Interiors Limited, emerged as the 2008 FATE Alumni Model Entrepreneur.

Dr. Bamanga Tukur (CON), President of the Africa Business Roundtable gave the keynote address during the event.
